In recent years, I’ve met young designers and students who cite Projektmono as a key reference point. A page that helped them discover the kind of work they wanted to make. The studios that made them. Senior designers and creative directors are part of this community too, sharing the work of others to inspire their teams.
I’ll often share something from the feed at Studio 3AM and someone will say, “How did they get away with that?” It drives us to try. To push the envelope. To pander less to fleeting taste and make work that is truly impactful.
For some time now, I’ve been working in the background, behind the page. Along with Damo and his carers, we’ve been posting on his behalf.
What happens now? Projektmono lives on. That’s what he wanted. Projektmono was never self-indulgent. Damo would agree that it never really belonged to him. He fostered the community. He highlighted the projects. He laboured over the curation. But Projektmono was always ours — the design community’s.
We’ll continue sharing excellent design that champions craft, clarity and conviction. You’ll keep seeing work that’s designer-led and designer-driven. And in doing so, I hope we’ll remember Damo. His eye. His influence. And the quiet way he brought us together. Thank you Damo.
